The Israel Museum, Jerusalem currently holds in its collections a large archive of over 300 unique artifacts related to the life of the Jewish artist and visionary Boris Schatz, including handwritten letters, postcards, invitation postcards, and photographs, along with awards presented to Schatz by the Palais de Sophia and the King of Bulgaria. The hope is that through the restoration and proper treatment of these great pieces of Israeli art heritage, we will safeguard their existence and enable access for researchers in the future. Online access of this material will prove to be a most important addition to the history of Israeli art, and to Jewish heritage. To engage the audience and monitor its reaction, we thought to build a virtual exhibition linked to the Facebook page of the Information Center for Israeli Art and to relevant Wikipedia pages. |
